News from M Picaut: “Skin Recovery Biocellulose Mask – the recovery mask that helps skin find its way back to balance”

When skin feels stressed, sensitive or out of balance, it rarely needs more active ingredients. Often, what it needs instead is calm, recovery and intensive hydration. With the new Skin Recovery Biocellulose Mask, M Picaut Swedish Skincare introduces a professional recovery mask that envelops the skin like a second skin, helping to restore moisture, comfort and balance.

“I’m seeing more and more people whose skin reacts to stress, changes in weather, active ingredients or simply the fast pace of everyday life,” says Mette Picaut, founder of M Picaut Swedish Skincare.

“Skincare isn’t always about doing more. Sometimes it’s about giving the skin the opportunity to recover.”

Skin Recovery Biocellulose Mask has been developed for skin that feels dehydrated, sensitive or temporarily compromised. The cooling biocellulose moulds closely to the contours of the face like a “second skin”, helping the serum remain in close contact with the skin throughout the treatment. The result is a soothing and relaxing experience that leaves skin feeling softer, calmer and intensely hydrated.

Unlike many traditional sheet masks, biocellulose is made from an ultra-fine natural fibre material produced through the natural fermentation of coconut water. The material closely envelops the skin and has long been used in professional skincare for its exceptional flexibility and ability to provide optimal contact between the skin and serum.

“I love the sensation of biocellulose. It feels cool, cocooning and almost weightless on the skin. It’s like having a professional treatment at home – but above all, it’s a moment when the skin can truly settle and recover,” says Mette Picaut.

At the heart of the formula is a selection of ingredients focused on supporting the skin’s natural recovery. Biofermented oligosaccharides help support the skin’s own moisture mechanisms, prebiotics contribute to a balanced microbiome and a stronger skin barrier, while Fucogel® and aloe vera provide long-lasting hydration and an immediate soothing sensation.

The new mask has been specially developed for moments when the skin needs extra care – after professional facial treatments, following sun exposure or travel, or during periods when the skin feels stressed, reactive or temporarily out of balance.

“We talk a lot about active ingredients and fast results. But healthy skin also depends on a strong skin barrier and a well-balanced microbiome. This is a mask designed to help the skin return to a state of calm and support its natural resilience,” says Mette Picaut.

The mask is made in Brittany, France, a region with extensive expertise in the development and production of biocellulose masks.

“For me, it feels particularly special to be able to manufacture it there. My husband is from Brittany and I have a strong personal connection to the region. At the same time, we know we are getting the high quality we are looking for, with shorter transportation distances than if production were located further away.”

Skin Recovery Biocellulose Mask is suitable for all skin types whenever the skin needs extra recovery, but is particularly appreciated by those with sensitive, dehydrated or reactive skin – and by skincare professionals looking for a soothing recovery step to complete a professional treatment.

“I believe the future of skincare is about working with the skin, not against it. When we support the skin’s own ability to retain moisture and maintain balance, we also create the conditions for skin that looks healthier and feels better.”
